Marguerite W. Wehr, 82 of Washington died Sunday, December 10, 2006 at the McCreedy Home in Washington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 AM Thursday, December 14, 2006 at the St. James Catholic Church in Washington with Rev. Fr. Ed O’ Melia officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin Noon Wednesday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 in the evening. A Prayer Service will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home. Memorials in the name Marguerite Wehr may be designated to the St. James School or the McCreedy Home.
Marguerite was born January 20, 1924 north of Washington the daughter of Charles Beason Sr. and Esta Celia (Long). She graduated from Washington High School and was united in married to Clarence “Bud” Wehr on May 18, 1963 in Iowa City, Iowa.
Marguerite was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, Rebekka Lodge in Keota and the Thursday Rollers Bowling League. She worked throughout her life at Washington State Bank, Spurgeon’s, waitress at the Washington Café, the Hub and Central Café in Keota, and for several years helped her husband mow lawns for many business and residents in the Washington area. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband Bud of Washington, sons Donnie Bond of Iowa City and Dennis Bond and wife Shari of Wayland, IA; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George, Charles, John, twin brother Marion; sisters, Catherine Virginia Keller and Rosa Annabell Engle and daughter Linda Wehr
