DIED Sunday, February 13, 2011

AT PLEASANTVIEW HOME, KALONA FOLLOWING A SUDDEN ILLNESS.

The family will greet friends Thursday, Feb.17 from 2 a�" 4 and 5-7 at the Peterseim Funeral Home, Kalona.  Final services will be at the Dunn Funeral Home, Des Moines on Friday, Feb. 18 from 4-6 PM.  Mrs. Levy's body will be cremated after the visitation in Des Moines.

Margaret Levy was born June 30, 1919 at Postville, IA.  She was the daughter of John and Mamie (Erwin) Muchow.  She graduated from Postville High School. Margaret was united in marriage to Edward R. Levy, December 14, 1939 in Des Moines, IA.

The couple owned and operated restaurants in Des Moines for a number of years.  The Pioneer, Sombrero, Skondras and Tel Star were their restaurants.  The children worked in the restaurants while growing up.

Margaret has been a resident of Pleasantview Home in Kalona for the past 2 A� years.  She enjoyed her grandchildren and sewing.  Margaret was known for her delicious cinnamon rolls and her winning smile.

Margaret is survived by three children; Cheryl and husband Paul Kemp of Riverside, IA, John and wife Nancy Levy of Ankeny, IA and Lewis Levy of Maple Hill, NC.  Also surviving 13 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren.

Preceding Margaret in death were her parents, her husband Edward Levy (March 1985) a son Robert and daughter, Trudy, seven brothers and one sister.

A memorial fund has been established for Pleasantview Home.
