Margaret Carrick

Margaret Mary Carrick, 61, of Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, March 13, 2004 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Mass of Christian Burial has been set for 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Fr. Nick Adam celebrant. Burial will be at the St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will began at Noon Tuesday at the Beatty Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 7-8:30 P.M. A rosary will be held 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. A memorial in the name of Margaret Carrick has been established to the American Cancer Society or St Alphonsus Catholic Church youth activities.

Margaret was born September 23, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa the daughter of Daniel J. and Mary Jo (Schroeder) Cash and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1960. She was united in marriage to David H. Carrick on September 14, 1968 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant.

She was a faithful member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, past President of the Alter and Rosary Society, Henry County Hospital Auxiliary, Fellowship Cup board member and was an active board member of the Mt. Pleasant Rec Center. Margaret was employed at the Henry County Bank for eight years before marriage and afterwards became busy with raising the family and her involvement with the community.

Survivors include her husband David of Mt. Pleasant, her father Daniel of Mt. Pleasant; two sons Chauncey Carrick of Sycamore, IL and Benjamin Carrick and wife Mary of Omaha, NE; daughter Emily Carrick of Ft. Madison; three brothers John A. Cash of Mt. Pleasant, William H. Cash and wife Judy of Mt. Pleasant and Dan J. Cash and wife Marge of Los Alamos, NM; sister Georgia Mathews and husband Dwayne of Danville, IA.

She was preceded in death by her mother January 6, 2004 and her mother-in-law Charlotte E. Lucas.
