Marcia Jean Fulton Kobs, 80 of Wayland formerly of New London died Saturday December 17, 2005 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City following a short illness.
Per her request she has been cremated and there will be no services or visitation. Condolences may be sent to her husband Donald at 301 W 3rd Apt H1 Wayland, Iowa 52654. Beatty Funeral Home of Wayland is assisting the family.
Marcia was born August 29, 1925 in Keota, Iowa the daughter of Clarence Gaylord and Edith Bernice (McJunkin) Fulton. She graduated from Keota High School and Nurses College in Burlington. On August 6, 1968 she was united in marriage to Donald Kobs in Galesburg, Illinois.
She was a nurse at Mercy Hospital in Burlington and worked at IAAP and was a bookkeeper for several businesses. Her and her husband lived in various communities throughout her life. They moved to Wayland in July 2004. She enjoyed reading, traveling, sewing, and fishing.
Survivors include her husband Donald of Wayland, eight children, JoAnn Dill of Blandsville, Illinois, Dave Kobs of Indiana, Linda Schmidt of Woodland Park, Colorado, Mick Kobs of Burlington, Iowa, Kay C. Calfee of Loveland, Colorado, Christine Herman of Mt Pleasant, Iowa and Don Taylor of West Branch, Iowa: brother Larry Keith Fulton of Brighton, Iowa, and sister Mary Beth Anderson of New London, Iowa: ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Kenneth, and an infant brother and sister.
