Mahlon Yoder

Funeral Services for Mahlon C. Yoder, 66, of Kalona, will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 9:30 AM at the Mahlon Yoder Residence, 1049 Nutmeg Avenue, Kalona. Burial will follow at the Peter Miller Cemetery. Visitation will begin Thursday, August 27 at 2PM and will be held all day Friday, August 28, at the Mahlon Yoder Residence.

Mahlon C. Yoder was born July 14, 1954 in Kalona, Iowa, the son of Chriss and Eldora (Mast) Yoder. On March 11, 1976, he was united in marriage to Bertha A. (Miller) Yoder, living in matrimony 44 years. He was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church and remained a faithful member until his death on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at the age of 66 years, 1 month, 11 days, from complications of Alzheimer’s.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha, his mother Eldora of Kalona, and seven sons and three daughters: Monroe and wife Minerva of Kalona, Elmer and wife Edith of Lockridge, Susan and husband Earl of Kalona, Chriss and wife Regina of Lockridge, Henry and wife Dorthy of Kalona, Harvey and wife LaVera of Kalona, Ellen and husband Daniel of Junction City, OH, Howard and friend Malinda Petersheim of Junction City, OH, and Alvin and friend Erma Beachy and Anna Fern Yoder all of Kalona. Also surviving are 43 grandchildren, three sisters: Verna and husband Perry Bender of Kalona, Edna and husband Perry T. Miller of Windsor, MO, Louise and husband Tobias Yoder of Kalona, three brothers: Cephas and wife Emma of Kalona, Wesley and wife Verlene of Brighton, and Samuel and wife Norma of Kalona.

Preceding Mahlon in death were an infant daughter, his father Chriss and one niece and one nephew.
