Lyle Lawrence McArtor was born on June 5, 1925 in Wellman, the son of Leroy D.. and Coar L. (King) McArtor. He was drafted into the United States Army at the age of 26. He served from 1952 to 1953 as a welder in Goosebay, Labrador Greenland. Recently when visiting with his nephew, Jeff, he could still recite his serial number. Lyle worked as a custodian for most of his life. Survivors include two ssisters, Freida Griffin of Broomfield, CO, Norma Schlabaugh of Broomfield, CO, and one brother, Orlo McArtor of Wellman, Iowa. Preceding Lyle in death were his parents and two brothers, Donald and Leroy McArtor and one sister, Mary Eyestone. A general memorial fund has been established.
