Linda Ann Bell, 76, of Washington, Iowa, formerly of Iowa City, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, with her daughters by her side. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Linda was born on July 31, 1948, the daughter of Kenneth R. and Ruth W. (Ricklefs) Holcomb of Martelle, Iowa. She was passionate about horses and being in the company animals, especially her cats. She enjoyed the serenity of nature, whether it was taking long walks, birdwatching, or spending the day fishing. She enjoyed traveling to new places and foreign countries with her daughters, and excitedly looked forward to attending the Iowa State Fair each year. But it was the devotion to her daughters and grandson that gave her life the greatest joy. Linda retired in 2019 after her many years of service working for the City of Iowa City, first in the print shop and later in the transit department.
Survivors include her daughters, Cindy (Brad) Eaton Smith of Harker Heights, TX, and Stacy Moore of Washington; grandson Tyler of Iowa City; sisters, Lois (Edd) Engelkens of Belle Plaine, and Joy (Keith) Grant of Minneapolis, MN; brother, Daryl (Connie) Holcomb of Iowa City; and her kitties, Grady and Gracie Bell of Washington.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother, David Holcomb.
