Lillian Thornburg, 83 of Salem died Saturday, November 6, 2004 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at the Salem Congregational Church with the Rev. Harold Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in the Blakeway Cemetery near Lake Geode. Visitation will begin at Noon Monday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with family present from 6-8:00 in the evening. Memorials in the name of Lillian Thornburg may be designated to the New Sweden Lutheran Church in Lockridge.
Lillian was born October 29, 1921 at home at four Corners, north of Lockridge the daughter of Earnest & Addie Carlson Aronson. She attended Grade school at Four Corners and graduated from Lockridge High School in 1940.
She married Harley Hendricks in 1944 and had 3 sons Gary, Dwight and Larry. In 1957 she married Carl Thornburg.
She was a member of the New Sweden Lutheran Church, north of Lockridge. Her hobbies were crafts & sewing. She made & sold many Barbie & Ken doll clothes.
Lillian is survived by three sons, Gary Hendricks of Golden Colorado, Dwight Hendricks of Hillsboro, and Larry Hendricks of Salem; one brother, Harlen Aronson of Bettendorf, IA; sisters, Fern Martin of Fairfield, and Evelyn Whiting of Salem; four grandchildren Cathy of Mt. Pleasant, Michele of Virginia, Todd of Colorado and Tiffany of Salem; seven great grandchildren, Loren & Noah of Colorado, Taylor of Virginia, Allison of Fairfield, Chi-ana and Jackson of Mt. Pleasant, Scott Helfrich of Salem and great-great-grandchild Jerdencio Villareak of Colorado.
Lillian was preceded in death by Parents, Husband Carl and four brothers.
