Leonard Fisher, 90 of Wayland, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at the Parkview Home in Wayland.
Funeral Services have been set for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2005 at the Bethel Mennonite Church with Pastor Phil Slabaugh officiating. Burial will be at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Cemetery. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the Bethel Mennonite Church. Beatty Funeral Home of Wayland is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Bethel Mennonite Church, Parkview Home or Hospice of Washington Co.
Leonard was born December 23, 1915 near Parnell, Iowa the son of Samuel and Mary (Yoder) Fisher. He was united in marriage to Lorene Wyse January 20, 1940 in Henry County.
He attended Bethel Mennonite Church and was a lifelong farmer in the Brighton area.
Survivors include children Jane (Milford) Hochstetler of Shipshewana, IN, Gail (Nancy) Fisher of Eureka, IL, Rita (Glenn) Burkholder of Bloomington, IN , Van Fisher of Brighton, IA and Krista (Rod) Kolkman of Winfield, IA; brother Vernon Fisher of Kalona, IA; sisters Luetta Johnson of Bogart, GA and Fern Troyer of Kalona, IA; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lorene, one grandson, siblings, Orlo Fisher, Glen Fisher, Harold Fisher, Maggie Hochstetler, Leona Miller, Lavanda Eash Shetler, Erma Kauffman and Waldo Fisher.
