Leona M. Reschly, 83 of Washington, died Monday, December 14, 2009 at the Washington Care Center following declining health.
Private family graveside services are planned for Friday, December18, 2009 at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will begin at Noon Thursday at the Beatty Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 4-6:00 PM in the afternoon. A general memorial has been established in the name of Leona M. Reschly.
Leona was born April 10, 1926 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Alfred Lee and Mary Ellen (Kuhn) Dusenberry. She was united in marriage to Willard Leroy Reschly on March 16, 1946 in Iowa City, Iowa.
Leona and her husband farmed in the Crawfordsville area before moving to Washington. She also worked at Montgomery Wards in her early years. She enjoyed music, cooking, sewing and her family.
Survivors include her daughter Linda Simmons and husband William of Washington, two sons Lonnie Reschly and wife Terri of Indianola, IA and Terry Reschly of Littleton, CO; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willard in 2008, two sons, Larry in 2005 and infant son Ronnie, three brothers, Charles, Lewis and John and one grandson Shannon.
