Vistiation for Laurine Trotman, 81, of Halcyon House, will be held Sunday, January 3rd, 2010 a t the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, IA from 2-5PM. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Laurine Trotman died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the Halcyon House in Washington following a lengthy illness. A memorial fund in lieu of flowers has been established for Hospice of Washington County or Halcyon House.
Laurine Kiesey Owens Trotman was born February 16, 1928 in Washington, IA the daughter of Ernestine (Van Atta) and Walter Kiesey. She graduated from Washington High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Max W. Owens in 1948 in Washington, IA. She later married Jack D. Trotman in 1981 in Des Moines, IA.
She spent 30 teaching swimming lessons at the Washington YMCA, worked at Seiferts for 8 years, and owned and operated the Captain’s Table for 13 years. She enjoyed swimming and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son Mark Owens and wife Nancy of Cedar Rapids, IA, two daughters, Linda Castino and husband Robert Stange of Westchester, IL, Tanya Keeney of Modesto, CA, one grandson, Jason Owens, and two brothers, Donald Kiesey of Mt. Pleasant, IA and Robert Kiesey and wife Margy of Davenport, IA.
Preceding Laurine in death were her parents, husband Jack Trotman, one son in law, Anthony Castino and one sister in law, Mary Kiesey.
