Larry Chapman, Sr.

Larry Joseph Chapman, Sr., 71, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in El Paso, TX.
Graveside services have been set for 2:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa with full military honors. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa. A general memorial has been established in leiu of flowers.
Larry was born November 8, 1945 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Joseph and Erma Maxine (Cooper) Chapman. Larry was united in marriage to Sherly Brown on October 4, 1965, they later divorced. He enlisted in the US Army and served during Vietnam for 2 years. He later married Linda Harness in 1980.
Larry moved to Alamorgordo, NM in 1983 where he was a barber at the Air Force base and later he owned and operated a janitoral business. He was also a barber in Iowa for several years as well as other various jobs. He was an active member of the VFW, CMA, CAPP and enjoyed racing stock cars in New Mexico.
Survivors include children, Sue Ann Flaherty (Micheal) of Las Vegas, NV; Larry Chapman, Jr. (Mindy) of DeWitt, IA and Angie Bodkin (Jake) of Washington, Iowa; step-children, Jeff Seivers, Philip Seivers, Christine and Doris; brother Richard Chapman (Judy) of Marion, IA; ten grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives and grandson Jakers Bodkin.
