Kenneth Wieland

Funeral Mass for Kenneth Wieland age 82 of Riverside will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Riverside.

Kenneth Wieland died Wednesday, March 8, 2011, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

Burial with military honors by VFW Post #6414 will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Riverside following the mass.

Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 pm at the Peterseim Funeral Home, Kalona.  A rosary will be recited at 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Kenneth J. Wieland was born January 22, 1929 in Washington.  He was the son of John and Elsie Thompson Wieland.  Kenneth graduated from St. Mary's High School, Riverside.

Kenneth and Mary F. Lenz were united in marriage in St. Mary's Church, Lone Tree on September 18, 1950.  Kenneth farmed for many years and was employed at Farmers Supply Sales, Inc, in Kalona for 14 years.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Riverside, and VFW Post 6414, Riverside.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Mary, two sons, John and Randy all of Riverside, a daughter, Becky Hedden of Rogers, Arkansas, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Also surviving are two sisters, Birtie and husband, Lloyd Duwa, and Margery Goodlander all of Washington and one brother, Russell and wife Rose Wieland of Riverside.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and a son Rick.

A memorial has been established fore Riverside First Responders and Iowa Cystic Fibrosis.
