A memorial service for Keith L. Nebel, 54, of Wayland will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church with Pastors Nathan Luitjens and Dave Schooley officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 7, from 1 – 7 PM at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church with the family present from 4 – 7 PM. A general memorial fund has been established. Keith Nebel died Friday, October 3 at the Washington County Hospital.
Keith Nebel was born October 2, 1960 in Washington County,IA, the son of Gerald and Kathryn (Roth) Nebel. He graduated from WACO High School and attended Hesston College. On May 30, 1987 he was united in marriage to Denise Morrow at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church. Keith farmed all of his life and also did crop canvasing. He was a member of the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church and a football coach for the WACO Jr. High football program. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and never missed his sons sporting events.
Survivors include his wife, Denise of Wayland, two sons: Trace of Washington and Zeke of Wayland, his parents, Gerald and Kathryn Nebel of Wayland, and three siblings: Grant (Edie) Nebel of Washington, and Regina (Tom) Dyck and Brian (Brenda) Nebel of Hesston, KS.
Preceding Keith in death was one sister, Beth Stewart.
