Katie Yoder

A funeral service for Katie E. Yoder, 82, of Kalona will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Sharon Bethel Church in rural Kalona. Burial will follow at the Peter Miller Cemetery in rural Kalona. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 1:30 – 4 and 6 – 8PM at the Sharon Bethel Church. A memorial fund has been established for the Pleasantview Home where Katie lived at the time of her peaceful passing on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. The Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting Katie's family.

Katie E. (Swartzentruber) Yoder was born December 17, 1934 in Kalona, Iowa, to Enos and Magdalena (Bender) Swartzentruber. On April 11, 1981 she was united in marriage to Tobias B. Yoder. Katie accepted Jesus into her heart in her youth and was a member of Sharon Bethel Church.

Survivors include her 96 year old husband of 36 years, Tobias B. Yoder, two step daughters: Patsy of Indiana and Linda of Florida, one step granddaughter Rachel, a brother Eldon (Katie) Swartzentruber of Harrisonburg, Virginia, a sister Sadie (Moses) Mast of Spencer, Oklahoma, 35 nieces and nephews, 176 great nieces and nephews and 183 great great nieces and nephews. Preceding Katie in death were her parents, two sisters: Barbara and Lovina, two brothers: Chris and Paul and a step daughter Karen.
