Funeral services for Roger K. O'Brien, Jr. 40, of Washington will be held Wednesday, September 22 at 10:00AM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Iowa City. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 21, from 6-8PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home. Roger died Sunday, September 19 at the Washington County Hospital following a long-term illness. A general memorial fund has been established.

Roger Keith O'Brien, Jr, was born February 11, 1970 in Iowa City the son of Roger O'Brien, Sr, and Rose Marie (Kabela) O'Brien. He graduated from Highland High School and attended Kirkwood Community College. On December 10, 1988 he was united in marriage to Susan Rios in North Liberty. He was employed as a truck driver. Roger was active in the Shirts and Skirts Dancing Club of Riverside and enjoyed camping, playing monopoly, karaoke and his cats.

Survivors include his wife Susan of Washington, one son, Christopher O'Brien of Washington, parents Roger and Rose O'Brien of Riverside, father in law, Raymond (Karen) Rios of Kalona, two brothers, Tim (Michelle) O'Brien of Green Bay, WI, and Kevin O'Brien and fiance' Heather Wardenvurg of Walford, IA.
