June Barnett

June Barnett, 88 formally of Hillsboro, died Friday, February 21, 2003 at the Henry County Health Center following declining health.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. David Doerr officiating. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. till 7:00 P.M. Monday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, there will be no family visitation. A general memorial in the name of June Barnett has been established in her name.
June was born December 10, 1914 in Utica, Iowa the daughter of James and Grace (Kisling) Pratt. She was united in marriage to Floyd “Bud” Barnett, August 6, 1936 in Keosauqua, Iowa.
She graduated from Stockport High School in 1932 and lived most of her live in Hillsboro. June was a homemaker and along with her husband owned and operated a restaurant in Hillsboro after they were married. She was also a waitress at several restaurants in the area. June retired from the Mental Health Institute in Mt. Pleasant after twenty-two years as a ward attendant. She had been at the Pleasant Manor Care Center for the last eight years.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Griffin of Hillsboro; one brother Earl Pratt and wife Wilma of Fairfield, IA and one granddaughter Penny of Hillsboro.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Bud on July 22, 1969, her son-in-law Earl, three sisters, Ruth Clark, Edith Parsons, and Mary Story.
