John (Jack) Richard Wilson passed away July 21, 2021, at Parkview Manor in Wellman, Iowa. Jack had been struggling with colon cancer for several months. There will be no burial service and as per Jack’s wishes, he has been cremated. A gathering will be 5:00-7:00PM, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Wagon Wheel, 521 East 7th Street, Washington, Iowa 52353
Jack was born on March 7, 1954, the son of Eugene Woodrow Wilson and Mary Ellen Wilson Nichols.
Those who knew Jack knew how he loved to work on cars. He worked most of his life working as a mechanic and worked for different auto dealers in Washington. Jack had Parkinson’s disease but when he had a wrench in his hand you would not know it. Jack was an avid mud truck driver and demo derby driver.
Jack is survived by a daughter April Ayala of Ottumwa, his sister Linda Wilson Smith of Crawfordsville, and sister Genie Davis of Washington. Jack is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and a special person in his life, Sarah Piper. Jack is now with his mom and dad and sister Barb Curl.
