John Clausen

A Mass of Christian Burial for John L. Clausen, 65, of Hills will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hills, Iowa with Father Michael Spiekermeier officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Monday, November 30, 2015 from 4 – 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hills. A memorial fund has been established for the St. Stanislaus Cemetery and Pioneer Park in Lone Tree.  John Clausen died Friday, November 27, 2015 at Pioneer Park in Lone Tree.

John Lyle Clausen was born May 4, 1950 in Iowa City, IA, the son of Donald and Shirley (Fesler) Clausen.  He graduated from Iowa City High in 1968 and worked as a farmer and mechanic.  John was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  He could fix anything and will be missed by many.  John was proud of his Danish heritage and his role as an uncle.  He enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes and Case tractors.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley Clausen of Iowa City, siblings Lucille (Mike) Parker of Hills, IA, Mary Clausen of Iowa City, Jean (Mike) Donohue of Iowa City, Bill Clausen (Moe Rogers) of Hills,  Eileen (Mike) Stumpf of Hills, 11 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews.
