Jayne Simmering, 52 of Washington died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a short illness.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 2:00PM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00PM at the funeral home. The body has been cremated. A general memorial fund has been established to assist with medical bills.
Jayne Ann (Eyestone) Simmering was born February 24, 1957 in Washington the daughter of Leslie Dale and Mary (McArtor) Eyestone. She was united in marriage to John Simmering on January 7, 1978 in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Jane worked at McCleary’s for seven years and was a homemaker after the birth of her children. She enjoyed playing the slots at the casino, playing tennis when she was younger, and she especially enjoyed her cat Simba.
Survivors include her husband, John of Washington, three children, Jennifer of Washington, Angie of Iowa City, Scott of Washington, one sister, Denise and husband Warren Ropp of Kalona, one half sister, Lesli and husband Todd Lien of Sioux City, IA.
Preceding Jayne in death were her parents.
