Jason Marner, 22 of Harrisonburg, Virginia, formally of Brighton, Iowa died Thursday, July 1, 2010 following a accident on his motorcycle.

Celebration of Life Services will be 6:00 PM Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Iowa Mennonite School with Pastor Tim Detweiler officiating. Burial will be prior to the service at 4:30 PM at the Lower Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family present from 2-4 and 6-8:00 and also Wednesday, July 7, 2010 beginning at Noon at Iowa Mennonite School with family present from 2-4:00 PM. Memorials have been designated to Iowa Mennonite School, Crook Creek Christian Camp or to help the family with his college expenses.

Jason was born July 22, 1987 in Washington, Iowa the son of Stan and Joann (Roth) Marner. He graduated from Iowa Mennonite School in 2006, Hesston College, Hesston, Kansas in 2008 with a AA in Aviation. He then graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia in May of 2010 with a BS in Business Administration. He began full-time work at Dynamic Aviation on June 28 where he had served as an intern for the past two years. His dream for many years was to fly and he hoped someday to do some Missionary Aviation. He was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church, Wayland, Iowa.

Survivors include his parents of Brighton, two brothers, David (Hanna) Marner of Hopkinsville, KY and Christopher Marner of Washington; two nieces Avery and Sydney Marner; grandparents Gerald Marner and Virginia Roth, both of Kalona; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding Jason in death were his grandparents, Esther Marner and Merton Roth; uncle Dale Roth and cousin Patrick Marner.
