A celebration of life for Janette C. Slaubaugh, 86 of Kalona will be held Monday, June 11, 2012 at 1:30 PM at the Kalona Mennonite Church in Kalona with Pastor Scott Swartzendruber officiating. Burial will follow at the West Union Cemetery in rural Parnell. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 10 from 2-8 PM with family present, and Monday June 11 from 9 AM to noon without family present at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial fund for the Kalona Mennonite Church Sewing Circle has been established.
Janette Carolyn Slaubaugh was born July 5, 1925 in rural Parnell, Iowa the daughter of Lewis and Myrtle (Bender) Slaubaugh. She worked as a certified nurses aid at the Pleasantview Home. Janette was a member of the Kalona Mennonite Church, the Kalona Lioness Club, the church sewing circle and was active for many years on the church service committee and helping with Vacation Bible school. After retiring from Pleasantview Home she continued to volunteer there for many years.
Survivors include many cousins.
Preceding Janette in death were her parents, and two sisters, Arlene Grace and Bernice Slaubaugh.
