Jamison “Jamie” Buffer, 43, of Kalona, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023, at her home near Kalona. She was an organ donor and her body has been cremated.
A Celebration of Life gathering for Jamison (Jamie) Buffer will be held Thursday, September 14th in the Visitor Center and Quilt Museum at the Kalona Historical Village. Friends and family are welcome to come anytime for visitation between 4 PM and 7PM. There will be an opportunity at 6PM for friends and family to share memories of Jamie’s life.
Photos as well as examples of Jamie’s many interests and artistic talents will also be on display. A video covering some of her life’s activities will show on a repeating basis during the Celebration.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to the Mid-Prairie Fine Arts Boosters. The Visitor Center and Quilt Museum is located at 715 D Avenue in Kalona, just south of Highway 22.
The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Jamison Lee Buffer was born November 24, 1979, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, the daughter of Pete and Shirley (Stam) Buffer. She graduated from Mid-Prairie High School and attended UNI, U of I, and Iowa State Universities. Jamie was admitted to the Landscape Architecture program at ISU where she successfully developed her artistic abilities in landscape and design studies. She enjoyed downhill skiing, scuba diving, camping, gardening and wildlife. Jamie was a gifted musician, playing the saxophone, piano and handbells.
Survivors include her daughter Ella and father Pete Buffer of Kalona, and maternal uncle Gary (Kay) Stam of Estherville.
Preceding Jamie in death was her mother Shirley and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
