James C. "Stoney" Stone

James C. “Stoney” Stone, 51, of Wellman, died Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital following a sudden illness. A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 4 – 6 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial fund has been established for Jim’s children. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

James “Jim” Carlton Stone was born December 18, 1971, in Lowell, MA, the son of Carleton and Irene Stone. He graduated from Nashoba Valley High School in Westford, MA. On May 11, 1996, he was united in marriage to Irene Glaude in Dracut, MA. Jim worked as a salesman at Sun and Fun Motor Sports in Iowa City. He enjoyed painting and collecting model cars and hot wheels, motorcycles and black and white movies, especially anything with Vincent Price in it.

Survivors include his wife Irene of Wellman, four children: Kelsey Stone (and fiancé Dakota Lemon) of Wayland, Gillian (Blake) Burnham of North English, Steven Stone of Wellman, and Isabella Stone of Wellman, one grandson, Shane Burnham, and one due to arrive in April.

Preceding Jim in death were his parents, and his in-laws: Roland Glaude and Doris Bouchard.
