James Arbogast

A celebration of life for James “Mick” Arbogast, 64 of Coppock, IA, will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 10:30AM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Burial will follow at the Cottonwood Cemetery in rural Wayland. Visitation will be held Monday, September 5, 2011 from 3-7PM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Mick Arbogast died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City following a sudden illness. A general memorial fund has been established.

James Michael Arbogast was born November 15, 1946 in Washington, Iowa, the son of James Max and Anna (Manning) Arbogast. He was united in marriage to Candie Lennie at the Cottonwood Church on June 8, 1985. Mick worked for Pete Lowe Trucking and Perfex and later as a field technician at Farm Service for many years. He served on the Coppock City Council, was a member of the Cottonwood Church and was an active volunteer at the Wayland Youth Center. Mick enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play sports, and he enjoyed fishing, boating and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Candie of Coppock, six children and spouses, James Arbogast II of Newton, Iowa, Rich and wife Stefanie Arbogast of Washington, Scott Arbogast of Washington, Tarasa and husband Tim Orr of San Antonio, Texas, Josh Genkinger of Coppock, Adam and wife Shannon Genkinger of Mt. Pleasant, 11 grandchildren, father, James Max Arbogast of Wayland, one brother, Harold and wife Teresa Arbogast of Brighton, Iowa, and one sister, Judy and husband Dennis Teel of Coppock, Iowa.

Preceding Mick in death was his first wife, Linda Arbogast, his mother, Anna Lowe and grandparents, Ray and Emma Manning.
