Jim E. Hesser, 64 of Washington died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at his home in Washington.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 29, 2003 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Rich Boyd officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Brighton. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Friday at the Funeral Home with family present from 6-8:00 P.M. A memorial in the name of Jim E. Hesser has been established to the Washington Fire Department or the Washington Rescue Squad.
Jim was born September 20, 1938 in Coppock, Iowa the son of Glenn. and Lillian (Imhof) Hesser. On July 19, 1958 he was united in marriage to Alice Barr at the Methodist Church in Washington.
Jim graduated from Wayland High School in 1957. He served on the Washington Fire Department and the Washington Rescue Squad. He was employed at the Elm Grove Cemetery, City of Washington and retired from Washington County in September of 2000. Jim enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife Alice of Washington; son, John Hesser of Washington, Iowa; brother, Kenneth “Mose” Hesser and wife Bea of Coppock; two sisters, Bertha Hill and Betty Ricks, both of Coppock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one stillborn son, two brothers, Gerald “Slim” and Richard, two sisters, Grace Ann and Catherine.
