James Eash

James F. Eash, 71 of Washington died Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Del Webb Memorial Hospital, Sun City West, Arizona. He had been hospitalized since December 29 with pulmonary emboli.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the Washington United Methodist Church, with Pastor Julia Poulsen officiating. Private family burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Friday, February 3, 2006 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 in the evening. Memorials have been established for the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., and Washington United Methodist Church. Condolences may be expressed online at www.beattyfh.com.

Mr. Eash was born May 12, 1934, to Stanley and Doris (Foreman) Eash of Wellman. He graduated from Wellman High School in 1951 and attended Iowa State University. Mr. Eash was a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1953-55, serving in the Korean Conflict.

On May 29, 1954 Mr. Eash married Evelyn Delores (Davisson) in Washington. After his wartime service, Mr. Eash farmed near Wellman. In 1965 the couple moved to Wellman to manage a furniture business. They moved to Washington in 1969 and opened Golden Touch Decorators. Mr. Eash added rental properties and became a real estate broker, founding Golden Crest Realty in 1985.

Mr. Eash was active as a 4-H leader and served in other leadership roles in the Washington community, including Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, and the United Methodist Church. Mr. Eash officially retired in 2003, but never retired from serving others, enjoying life, traveling with his wife, and visiting his daughters and their families.
Survivors include Jim’s wife, Evelyn; daughters Sheryl and husband Mike Campbell of Traer; Linda and husband Gary Pasquarell of Roanoke, Virginia; Susan and husband Mark Jordan of Albuquerque, New Mexico; eight grandchildren: Brad Hendrickson, Kathryn Decker, Mae, Micah, Maria and Megan Pasquarell, Alex and Tyler Jordan; and one sister, Patricia Hagen and husband Alan of Waverly.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
