Ivan P. Hahn “Tootie”, 84 of Washington died Tuesday evening, February 17, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Funeral Services have been set for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 21, 2004 at the Beatty Funeral Home of Washington with the Rev. Rich Boyd officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Friday at the Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 in the evening. A memorial in the name of Ivan Hahn has been established to Hospice of Washington County or the American Heart Association.
Ivan was born March 28, 1919 in Modoc, Illinois the son of Charles and Margaret (Bersche) Hahn. He was united in marriage to Ada Beenblossom August 6, 1940 in Prairieville, MO.
Ivan was a member of the First Christian Church in Washington and farmed in the Crawfordsville and Washington communities. His passion was the Ivan Hahn orchestra that preformed for many years in the 50s, 60s, and early 70s in southeast Iowa. He enjoyed pinochle, cards and being with family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Ada of Washington; son Ed Hahn and wife Sharon of Keota and daughter Peg Shepherd of Washington; six grandchildren Mark Hahn and wife Lisa, Lonnie Hahn and wife Tabitha, Paula Celanie and husband Joe, Jason Shepherd, Megan Shepherd and Brian Shepherd and five great-grandchildren, Kendahl, Kirsten, Riley, Andrew “A.J.” and Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twelve brothers and sisters.
