Irwin Hanson

Irwin “Erv” Hanson, 83, of Washington, died Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Parkview Of Wellman following a sudden illness.  A private graveside service will be held at the Sandy Hook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the family’s use.

Irwin “Erv” Mansfield Hanson was born July 6, 1937 in Brighton, Iowa, the son of Nels and Sylvia (Hesseltine) Hanson. He served in the United States Army. Erv was united in marriage to Phyllis Gier.  He enjoyed mowing, watching westerns and lottery scratch tickets.

Survivors include his daughter Mary (Michael) Sypherd of Ainsworth, one son Ervon Hanson of Washington; two grandchildren: Jamie (Robert) Sturm, Michael Sypherd II (Kasandra), and seven great grandchildren.

Preceding Erv in death was his wife Phyllis, son George Hanson and granddaughter Phoenyx Sturm.
