Services: Tuesday, Oct. 14 10:00 AM Beatty Funeral Home, Washington Burial: Sharon Hill Cemetery,Kalona Visitation: Monday noon-7:00 Family present from 5-7 PM Hilda Marie Blum, 86 of Washington, died Friday, October 09, 2009 at the Brownlee Care Center in Washington following declining health. Funeral Services have been set for 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Diana Lovett and Pastor Marilyn Coffman officiating. Burial will be in the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will begin at Noon Monday at the Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5-7:00 PM in the evening. Memorial may be designated to the English River Church of the Brethren in South English. Hilda was born May 11, 1923 in Wellman, Iowa the daughter of Henry Jerome and Effie Belle (White) Graf. She attended Keota schools and was united in marriage to Clarence William Blum on September 18, 1946 in Wellman. She was a member of the English River Church of the Brethren in South English. She farmed with her husband in the Washington area for 35 years and moved to Brownlee in November of 2008. Hilda enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing and playing cards. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Leo, Raymond, Gerald, Elvin and William and sister Frances McCrabb.
