Helen L. Shepherd, 95 of Wayland, died Wednesday, July 07, 2010 at the Parkview Home in Wayland following declining health.
Funeral Services have been set for 2:00 PM Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland with Pastor Linda Renkin officiating. Burial will follow at the Finley Cemetery south of Wayland. Open visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Monday till service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated to the Finley Cemetery in the name of Helen Shepherd.
Helen was born August 10, 1914 the daughter of Eli and Minnie Laura (Zuhn) Speidel. She graduated from Wayland High School in 1932 and was united in marriage to Harold V. Shepherd, June 11, 1936 in Davenport, IA.
She was a member of the Finley Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and helped her husband in the produce business in Olds. Helen lived in the Henry and Washington Co. area her entire life.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold June 5, 1978, three brothers Louis, Harold and Hayward, three sisters, Mary Stewart, Emily Wyse and Ethel Hauenstein and twins in infancy.
