Helen Madeline Ford, 79 of Wilton, IA, formally of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, June 26, 2003 at the Wilton Care Center in Wilton, IA.
Funeral Services have been set for 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 30, 2003 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant the Rev. Jeffery Crawford of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Sunday at the Funeral Home with family present from 2-4:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Heart Association.
Madeline was born August 19, 1923 in Keosauqua, IA the daughter of Samuel Fern and Dorothy Marie (Corns) Arnold. She graduated from Keosauqua High School. She was united in marriage to James W. Ford March 7, 1942 in Memphis, MO.
Mrs. Ford was a long time resident of Mt. Pleasant having farmed with her husband west of Mt. Pleasant since 1952. Prior to that they were residents of Burlington. She had lived with her daughter the last three years. She enjoyed reading, sewing and gardening.
Survivors include one daughter, Darla and husband Walt Litton of Durant, Iowa, one sister Dorothy and husband Arcie Sapato of Moline, IL, one brother Blaine Arnold and wife Judy of Blue Grass, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in May of 2000 and infant son James Randall.
