i��A celebration of life for Harvey H. Miller 91, of Kalona will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 10:00AM at the Kalona Mennonite Church in Kalona.  Burial will follow at the South Gingerich Cemetery in rural Kalona.  Visitation will be held Thursday, September 6 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Kalona Mennonite Church.  A memorial fund has been established for the Mennonite Central Committee.  Harvey Miller died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a sudden illness.

Harvey H. Miller was born July 29, 1921 in Conway Springs, Kansas the son of Harvey C. and Mary (Fry) Miller.  He was united in marriage to Salinda Yoder on June 14, 1942.  Harvey sold cookies for the Rippin' Good Cookie Company for many years and was affectionately known as the "cookie man".  He and Salinda moved to the Kalona community in 2000 and Harvey was a member of the Kalona Mennonite Church.  He enjoyed hunting and playing dominos with his brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three children, Roy (Mollie) Miller of Kalona, Robert (Gayle) Miller of Bethel, Alaska, Mary C. Miller of Kalona, a son in law, George Miller of Washington, Iowa,  eight grandchildren, Anthony Miller, Melissa Yeggy, Autumn Miller, Jeremy Miller, Rachel Knepp, Joseph Miller, Zachary Miller, Maggie Miller, three step grandchildren, Maren Wurster, Jeremy and Chris Johnson13 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Susan Yoder of Kalona and Edna Miller of Kalona.

Preceding Harvey in death were his parents, his wife Salinda in January of 2005, a daughter, Elizabeth Miller in October of 1988 and 11 siblings, Barbara, Clemens, Amos, Clarence, Samuel, Ezra, Lydian, Enos, Mattie, Mary and Henry.
