Harold Gene Blumenstein age 79, was born Februray 6, 1929 near Wellman, Iowa. He was the son of Glen and Myrtle Taylor Blumenstein. Harold graduated from Wellman High School in 1947. Harold and Harriet Butterbaugh were married December 2. 1949 om Williamsburg, IA. Harold owned and operated a sawmill north of Wellman for many years. He and Harriet lived in Port Byron, IL. at the time of her death. Harold returned to the Wellman area and was living in West Chester at this tiem. Harold is remembered by his family as a great story teller. He is survived by three children: Mary J. Blumenstein of North Liberty, Larry and wife Chris Blumenstein of Wellman and Sue Blumenstein of Washington. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a sister Lorene Spenler of Iowa City. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Harriet and a son Bill Blumenstein. Harold's family appreciates all the many kind rememberances each of you have contributed. Your kind offerings of condelances will always be remembered. A general memorial fund has been established.
