Glennis Speas, 84, of Kalona, died Friday, November 23, 2018 at her home. A private family burial will be held at Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Born March 14, 1934, in Iowa County, the daughter of Urie and Elsie (Yoder) Slaubaugh. She attended Eagleville rural school. Glennis and Donald Speas were united in marriage April 7, 1963 in Kalona. Glennis worked at Capper’s restaurant in Wellman, Owen Brush company, Iowa City, Gambles and JW’s deli in Kalona. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and sewing. Glennis is survived by two sons; Jim Speas of Kalona, Stacy ( Mary) Speas, of Kalona; a Grandaughter; Brandi Speas (Robert Youngblood) of Houston, Tx; a great Grandson Jiraiya of Houston, TX, four siblings; Fraynia and husband Ward Snyder of Arizona, Shirley and husband Bob Kuhns of Wellman, Doug and wife Leslie Slaubaugh of Wellman, Patricia and husband Charlie Vincent of Wellman, and two sisters-in-law, Marlene Slaubaugh of Iowa City, and Linda Slaubaugh of Kalona, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; 4 brothers, Phillip Slaubaugh, Melvin (Frogs) Slaubaugh, Wayne Slaubaugh, and Robert (Radge) Slaubaugh.
