Gladys Gardner

A celebration of life for Gladys I. Gardner, 83, of Washington, formerly of Kalona, will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 2pm at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, with Reverend Dean Elmore officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the family. Gladys Gardner died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Halcyon House in Washington.
Gladys Irene Gardner was born March 3, 1933 in Washington County, the daughter of Oscar and Opal (McBride) Gardner. She attended Haver Rural School in Washington County. Gladys enjoyed going to garage sales and visiting with people. She was a very friendly person who enjoyed making friends.
Survivors include her brother Lester Gardner of Iowa City, her sister Mildred Kamper of Washington, a sister-in-law, Ruth Gardner of Washington and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Gladys in death were her parents, three brothers: Cloyd, Earl and Don Gardner, her sister Helen Tackenberg and a sister-in-law Laverne Gardner.
