Gertrude Adrian, 82 of Washington, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona following a lengthy illness.
Graveside services have been set for 2:30 PM Friday, June 13, 2008 at the Hillcrest Cemetery at Brighton. Beatty Funeral Home in Washington is assisting with arrangements. A general memorial in the name of Gertrude Adrian has been established.
Gertrude was born July 11, 1925 near Germanville, IA the daughter of Elwood Thomas and Bertha Caroline (Dunsmoor) Nash. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1943 and Parsons College in Fairfield. She was united in marriage to Leonard Adrian on July 11, 1950 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clear Creek.
She taught school and helped her husband farm near Keota for twenty years and later farmed in Brighton and Washington.
Survivors include four sons; Jim Adrian and wife Lynette of Washington, Bob Adrian and wife Nancy of Brighton, Dave Adrian and wife Toni of Washington and Steve Adrian and wife Brenda of Washington; two daughters, Nancy Adrian and Linda Wilson and husband Dean, both of Washington; brothers Herb Nash of Washington and Charles Nash of Newton, IA; sisters Stella Rich of Washington, Luella Vasey of Altoona, IA, Hattie Hoover of Fairfield and Beatrice Stull of Ollie, IA; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Leonard, April 4, 2001, brothers, George, Omar, Warren and Lewis and sister Mary Parsons.
