George N. Yoder was born February 19, 1914 in rural Wellman. He was the son of Arthur G. and Lydia Swartzendruber Yoder. His mother died when he and his twin brother were several days old. He was raised by his maternal grandparents until his father married Esther Miller He attended Hickory Grove School and Wellman High School. George was a member of West Union Mennonite Church. He enjoyed fishing, writing cards and letters,and having phone conversations with his many friends,family,and relatives. George's friendly presence will be missed by all who knew him. George was a farmer all his life until retirement. Surviving him are four children and spouses John Arthur and Marilyn Yoder of Wellman, Carroll and Judy Yoder of Wellman, Judy and Robert Moskalik of Coldwater, MI and Alan and Lynda Yoder of Davenport, IA, twelve grandchildren,Jim Yoder, Kyle Yoder, Steven Moskalik, Mark Moskalik, Timothy Yoder, Ben Yoder, John Moskalik, Jeff Moskalik, Suzanne Lange, Amanda Makula, Carissa Yoder, and Rebekah Yoder. Also surviving are two great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Esther, wife Leona, three sons, Jerold Yoder, Lowell Yoder, George C. Yoder, a grandson, Nathaniel Yoder, his twin brother, Gideon Yoder, adopted brother, Willis 'Bub'Reber and adopted sister, Doris Reber Yoder. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the many acts of kindness extended them during the time of their loss.
