Geneva Fort, 88 of Wayland, died Monday, June 16, 2003 at the Parkview Home in Wayland.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 A.M. Thursday, June 19, 2003 at the United Methodist New Life Parish Church in Wayland with the Rev. Kenneth Hartman officiating. Burial will be in the Center Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon till 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland. There will be no family visitation. Memorials in the name of Geneva Fort may be designated to the Wayland Rescue Squad or the United Methodist New Life Parish Church of Wayland.
Geneva was born August 26, 1914 in Calloway Co. Missouri the son of George Y. and Nancy Elizabeth (Castleman) Lail. She was united in marriage to William E. Fort (Emil) on November 22, 1929 in Montgomery City, MO.
Geneva attended United Methodist New Life Parish Church in Wayland and was involved with the United Methodist Women. Geneva raised her family and helped with pre-school. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and in her younger years, dancing.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Fort and wife Chris of Washington, IA and Ron Fort and wife Becky of Central City, IA; two daughter-in-laws, Georgia Fort of Wayland and Graceanna Fort of Pleasantville, IA; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Emil, Feb. 4, 1998, two sons, William and George, four sisters, Mable, Ioa, Paline and Maudline.
