Freddie E. Martin, 82 of Washington, died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Washington County Hospital.
Funeral Services have been set for 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the Washington United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Stiles officiating. Cremation will follow the service and he will be interred at a later date. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-7 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family recieving friends from 4-7:00 PM. A general memorial in the name of Freddie E. Martin has been established.
Freddie was born December 14, 1931 in Bill, Wyoming, the son of Fred and Nina Anna (Faulkner) Martin. He was united in marriage to Wanda Walton on November 1, 1952 in Washington. He served in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion and VFW post 2808.
He was employed as a carpenter, mechanic, truck driver and retired from Crane Mfg in 1995 after 26 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, calling Bingo at the Central Park Senior Center and in his early years bronco riding.
Survivors include friend Esther Hartman of Washington; sons Glen (Irmtraud) Martin, Fred (Vivian) Martin and Danny Martin, all of Washington; daughter in law Cindy Martin of Washington; brothers Ray "Sonny" (Rita) Martin of Washington and Ed Holland of Nevada, MO; sisters Faye Scott and Ora "Babe" (Bob) Knerr, both of Washington; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Tony, brother Marion, sisters Nova Higgans and Anna Maye Cole.
