Celebration of Life services for Frank J. Mincer, age 97, of Riverside will be Thursday, October 27 at 11:30 AM at the Peterseim Funeral Home, Kalona. Visitation for Frank Mincer will be Thursday from 9:30AM until service time at the Peterseim Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Riverside Public Cemetery, Riverside, IA. A memorial fund has been established for Camp Courageous or the donor's choice.
Frank Mincer passed away Sunday, Oct. 23 at the Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction following a short illness.
Frank Mincer was born October 31, 1913 on the family farm near Riverside. He was the son of Frank and Amelia (Dvorak) Mincer. On May 4, 1935 he was united in marriage to Faithe Stolley in Kahoka, Missouri. The couple lived and farmed in the Riverside community until moving to Colonial Manor. Frank was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Fraternal Order of The Eagles. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family and in his earlier years he fished and hunted, attended dances and played cards.
Survivors include his wife Faithe of Columbus Junction, one son, Gary (Kay) Mincer of Riverside, two daughters, Gayle (Clarke) Barnes of Geneseo, Illinois, Lois (Richard L.) Riggan of Ainsworth, eight grandchildren serving as casket bearers; Frank R. Mincer, Richard R. Riggan, Patrick B.Barnes, Karen L. Phillips, Mary S. Watson, Lori R. Jackson, Lia F. Horton, Carrie B. Barnes, 16 great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, and one sister, Hester Larew of Lone Tree.
Preceding Frank in death were his parents, one brother, Joe Mincer, and five sisters, Nora Marie, Wilma, Ethel, Evelyn and Leona Ann.
