Frances Elizabeth Bain, 83 of Wayland, died Wednesday morning, October 12, 2005 at her home near Wayland.
Funeral services have been set for 1:00 P.M Saturday, October 15, 2005 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Rev. Herb Yoder of the Eicher Mennonite Church officiating. Burial will be in the Wayland Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Friday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 in the evening. Memorials in the name of Frances Bain may be designated to the Wayland Cemetery.
Frances was born July 29, 1922 near Wayland, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Emma (Kaufman) Stalder. She graduated from Wayland High School in 1940 and was united in marriage to Ralph G. Bain November 1, 1941 in Washington.
Frances was a homemaker and a member of the Marion township hobby club. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bird watching, baking and spending time with her family and her dog Rex.
Survivors include children Donald Bain of Peoria, AZ, Barbara (Allan) Smith of Davenport, IA, Mary Jo Bain of Silvis, IL, Thomas Bain of Peoria, AZ, Kathryn (Mike) Furlong of Davenport, IA, Linda Bredberg of E. Moline, IL, Gary (Loree) Bain of Sigourney, IA, Nancy Bain of Santa Ann, CA, Marlene (Greg) Pelster of Streamwood, IL, and Lora Bain of Wayland, IA; sister Ruth Stauffer of Wayland; fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph October 4, 1993, son Russell Bain, brother Dale Stalder, sister Elsie Stalder and daughter in law Meleissa Bain.
