Funeral Services for Floyd V. Beachy, 88, of Pleasantview Home, Kalona, will be held Monday, January 18, 2010 at 10:00AM at the Sunnyside Conservative Mennonite Church, Kalona, with Pastors John King and Floyd Helmuth officiating. Burial will follow in the South Gingerich Cemetery, rural Kalona. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 17 from 2-4 and 5-7 PM at the Sunnyside Conservative Mennonite Church in Kalona. Floyd died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Pleasantview Home following a lingering illness. Floyd was born April 23, 1921 in Kokomo, IN, the son of Andrew M. and Elizabeth (Beachy) Beachy. He was united in marriage to Mattie Miller in Amboy, IN on December 18, 1941. Floyd was a farmer most of his life, and worked at the Kalona Sales Barn in Kalona for 15 years. He was a member of the Sunnyside Conservative Mennonite Church where he served as a trustee and was very involved in the life of the church. Survivors include his wife, Mattie of Kalona, five children, Anna Ruth (J. Daniel) Martin of York, PA, Wayne D. (Judy) Beachy of Kalona, Ray (Jeanette) Beachy of Jackson, NJ, John Beachy of Centerville, IA and Brent Beachy of Centerville, IA, ten grandchildren, Gregory Beachy, Jonathan (Anita) Beachy, Timothy (Elena) Beachy, Scott (Michelle) Beachy, Joel (Christine) Beachy, Eirik Martin, Rebecca (Tom) Miller, Shelia Illingworth, Anneke Martin, Elizabeth Beachy, ten great grandchildren, seven siblings, Mary (Moses) Gingerich of Mt. Eton, OH, Mose Beachy of Goshen, IN, Verna (David L.) Yoder of Kalona, Alvin (Edna) Beachy of Carlisle, IN, Bertha Beachy of Goshen, IN, Wilma (Ray) Gingerich of Harrisonburg, VA, and Clara (Ed) Yoder of Harrisonburg, VA. Also surviving is Julie Beachy of Wellman. Preceding Floyd in death were his parents and two sisters, Esther Beachy and Fannie Miller and four nephews.
