A celebration of life for Faithe Emma Mincer, 96, of Riverside, Iowa will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 1:00PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will follow at the Riverside Public Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral, from 10:30 AM until 1 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established for heart research at the University of Iowa or donor's choice.
Faithe Mincer died Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Washington County Hospital following a lingering illness.
Faithe E. (Stolley) Mincer was born November 19, 1915 in rural Riverside, Iowa the daughter of Rudolph A. and Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Meyer) Stolley. She graduated from Riverside High School in 1932. Faithe worked as a waitress and cook at Gaeta's Restaurant in Lone Tree for several years and at the Warren Nursing Home. She was united in marriage to Frank J. Mincer on May 4, 1935 in Kahoka, Missouri. Faithe was a past member of the Women of the Moose and she enjoyed cooking, dancing, bowling, playing cards, quilting and gardening.
Survivors include one son, Gary (Kay) Mincer of Riverside, two daughters, Gayle (Clarke) Barnes of Geneseo, Illinois, Lois (Richard L.) Riggan of Ainsworth, eight grandchildren serving as casket bearers; Frank R. Mincer, Richard R. Riggan, Patrick B.Barnes, Karen L. Phillips, Mary S. Watson, Lori R. Jackson, Lia F. Horton, Carrie B. Barnes, 16 great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Hester Larew of Lone Tree.
Preceding Faithe in death were her parents, her husband Frank on October 23, 2011, and five sisters, Arlene Lundquist, Delpha Wieland, Ruth Wieland, Lila Pearson and Betty Fiagle.
