Evelyn D. Worley, 85 of Washington died, Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Washington County Hospital following a short illness.
A Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Monday, February 15, 2010 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington with Pastor Steve Koch officiating. Her body has been cremated and will be interred at the Elm Grove Cemetery with full military honors later this spring. Visitation will be from 2-4:00 PM Sunday at the Beatty Funeral Home. Memorials may be designated to F-Troop Historical Assoc., American Legion Post #29 and Hospice of Washington County in the name of Evelyn D. Worley.
Evelyn Worley was born May 4, 1924 in Chicago Heights, IL. She was the oldest daughter of Emerson and Marie (Gust) Davis. She served in the U.S. Navy during WW II at New York, New Jersey and Ottumwa, IA. Evelyn married Verle Worley on September 22, 1945 in Chicago Heights, IL.
Evelyn was a faithful member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington.
She is survived by two children: a son Mike (Joanne) of Washington and daughter Pat (Gary) Kilberger of Fairfax, IA, four grandchildren, Rob, Greg, Michael and Maureen and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Eugene (Evelyn) Davis, of Knox, IN, Emerson (Clo) Davis of Orleans, MA, Robert (Louise) Davis of Glenwood, IL and a sister, Marilyn (Mert) Campbell Crete, IL.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Verle Worley and a sister, Shirley Holt.
