Evelyn Louis Conrad, 86 of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of the Trenton Area, died April 8, 2003 at the New London Nursing and Rehab Center.
Funeral Services have been set for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 10, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Jeffrey McPheron officiating. Burial will be in the Crawforsville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Wednesday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with family receiving friends from 7-9:00 P.M. in the evening. A memorial has been established to the Trenton United Methodist Church or the Mt. Pleasant Library.
Evelyn was born February 9, 1917 in the West Highland area in Henry County the daughter of William Henry and Marie L. (Tarmen) Allender. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and on September 11, 1938 was united in marriage to Vernon Dwight Conrad.
Evelyn was a member of the Trenton Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She did many quilts and afghans for her children and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include, son Merle and wife Jayne of Chariton, Iowa, two daughters, Linda L. Harrison and husband Russell of Mt. Pleasant and Connie K. Jobe of Keokuk, Iowa, brother Wayne Allender and wife Marilyn of Jefferson, Iowa, ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, January 25, 1999 and a infant son.
