Services: Saturday, Nov. 29 10:00 AM Kalona Mennonite Church Kalona Visitation: Friday 3-7 PM Peterseim Funeral Home, Kalona Memorials: Kalona Mennonite Church, Iowa City Hospice or Pleasantview Home Eva Lavern Yoder,age 88,died at Pleasantview Home following a lingering illness. Eva was born near Frytown, the daughter of Eli and Esther Brenneman Yoder. She grew up in the area and attended rural school. Eva and Elwyn Brenneman were united in marriage June 2, 1940 in the family home near Riverside. Eva work along side Elwyn in their farming operations for many years. She also was employed in the lunchroom at the Kalona Sales Barn. The couple moved to Kalona in 1998. Eva had been a resident in Pleasantview Home for ???? years. Eva was a charter member of Kalona Mennonite Church, active in WMSC and Quilters Club. All her grandchildren received a special quilt from her. Eva is survived by four children and spouses: Jeanette and Bob Bulechek of Kalona, Charlene and Gary Mullet of Belton, MO, Larry and Kathy Brenneman of Riverside, Debbie and Don Birky of Foosland, IL, 14 grandchildren listed as casket bearers, and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Wilbur Yoder of Sarasota, FL, Raymond and wife Donis Yoder of North Richland Hills, TX, Luella Yoder of Kalona, Verna Gingerich of Gallipolis, OH, and sisters-in-law Ellen Yoder of Kalona and Lois Yoder of Mesa, AZ. Preceding Eva in death were her parents, her husband, Elwyn (Dec. 9, 1998) five brothers: Ivan, Lyle, Marvin, Duane and Calvin Yoder. A memorial fund for Kalona Mennonite Church, Iowa City Hospice and Pleasantview Home has been established in her honor. Eva's family appreciates all the many acts of kindness and prayers bestowed on them during Eva's illness and at this them of their loss. You will be remembered with love.
