Eula Jean (Figgins) Miller was born July 16, 1926 in rural Kalona, the daughter of Jay and Luva (Hartsock) Figgins. On June 4, 1945 she was united in marriage to Sylvanus "Chub" Miller, Jr. in Kalona. To this union was born four sons: Von (Pam) of Iowa City, Max (Carla) of Marrero, LA., Tim (Krys) of Bonner Springs, KS. and Hal (Kathy) of Honey Creek, IA. Eula Jean was a homemaker and friend to many in Kalona. In July 1967 the family moved to Treynor, IA., so two of the boys could attend the Iowa School for the Deaf. While in Treynor, Eula Jean was a day sitter to numerous families while taking care of the family home. Eula and Sylvanus lived in Treynor until September of 2017, when they relocated to Crestview Specialty Care to be near Von and his family.
Eula Jean is survived by her husband of almost 73 years, four children, 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Preceding Eula Jean in death were her parents and two brothers: Jack and Ned Figgins.
