Eugene “Charlie” Boock, 72 of Washington, died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Halcyon House in Washington following declining health.
Funeral Services have been set for 2:00 PM Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Kelly Allard. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Thursday at the Funeral Home with family present from 5-7:00 PM in the evening. A general memorial in the name of Charlie Boock has been established.
Charlie was born January 1, 1939 in Keokuk Co., Iowa the son of Charles TJ and La Vera Ann (Rochotzke) Boock. He graduated from Kalona High School in 1957 and served in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Nancy Jo Neff in April of 1963 in Washington, Iowa.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Charlie was employed at Fansteel in Washington for 35 years. He enjoyed bowling, cars and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Angela Boock of Baxter, IA and Brenda Berg and husband Eric of Central City, IA; six sisters, Phyllis A. Cochran and husband Jerry of Cedar Rapids, IA, JoAnna L. Koopman of Ainsworth, IA, Carol A. Wolfe of Cedar Rapids, IA, marilynne J. Reiner and husband Don of Bismark, ND, Lois E. Estling and husband Tim of Shellsburg, IA and Susan K. Seth and husband Dave of Coffeen, IL; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy, and two daughters Pamela Sue and Kathy Ann on January 21, 1985.
