Esther Fuller quietly passed away on September 11, 2021, on her 96th birthday at the Clovis Community Hospital near Fresno California. Esther lived a quiet life and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Esther was born in Johnson County, Iowa, near the small town of Sharon Center, the daughter of Abner Christner and Charlotte (Brenneman) Christner. She grew up on the family farm and attended a country school. While doing Mennonite Voluntary Service she served at Brook Lane in Maryland and later in Reedley, California. At Brook Lane, she met Warren Fuller and they were married in 1953. The couple eventually settled in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, where they raised their four children. When her children were young Esther was a homemaker and then worked in retail. She earned her GED and later attended community college in Stockton, California, where she earned a certificate in Public Safety. She went on to work in the hospitality industry at Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks in California and in Zion National Park in Utah. Esther loved the beauty of those places. In the latter part of her life, she retired in Fresno, California, near her daughter Kathy. Esther is preceded in death by her parents Abner and Charlotte Christner, her brothers George Christner and Alvin Christner, and sisters-in-law Millie and Pat.
Esther is survived by her children: Phil Fuller of St. Paul, MN; Kathy Fuller (Henry French) of Fresno, CA; Greg Fuller (Deb) of Coon Rapids, MN; Patti Bloechl (Chuck) of Muscatine, IA. She has seven grandchildren (Phil, Brian, Sheri, Andrea, Mindy, Katie, Ben) and three great-grandchildren (Zach, Tyler, Kailey), with 2 honorary grandchildren (Nicole and Paul) and one honorary great-grandchild (Otis).
